We are looking for the following role to be based in our site in Burton-upon-Trent:
Director Sustainability (m/f/d) - UK.
What your job includes
- Responsibility for leading our strategy across a diverse range of food products and sustainability opportunities with a customer-centric approach to problem-solving and a broad understanding of global supply chain levers for sustainability, particularly related to agricultural supply chains and related industries and resources.
- Effective interaction and influence of customers, suppliers, and other external stakeholders (such as NGOs, academia, trade associations, other agricultural related industries)
- Develop and maintain inventory of current and potential customer ESG/Sustainability targets and objectives and advises potential strategies to support customers in meeting their commitments
- Develop networks in the animal agriculture community to enable project development towards sustainability interventions in OSI’s supply chain.
- Establish methods and mechanisms to deliver outcome-based solutions for customers (specifically related to scope 3 climate commitments)
- Lead sustainability data management and reporting for UK in collaboration with global team.
- Prepare budgets, schedules, and other organizational reports in relation to Sustainability
- Coach and mentor sustainability staff to continuously evolve capabilities, capacity and skill sets needed to achieve sustainability outcomes.
What we expect from you
- Good experience in agriculture services, agriculture project management and carbon accounting is desired
- Deep understanding of sustainability opportunities in the food industry, particularly related to climate / GHG accounting, target-setting, supply chain challenges related to ESG topics
- Ability to liaise with farmers and related agriculture business to build relationships
- Curious, flexible and adaptable to change and the evolving sustainability challenges, government policies
- Exceptional relationship building and influencing skills are critical combined with the ability to successfully navigate within a large, multicultural business
- Proven planning and project management skills paired with a goal-oriented work ethics
- Experience in developing and leading a team while showing exceptional coaching skills
- Degree in environmental technology, agri-sciences or related field
- Fluent communication in English on all levels of hierarchy
