OSI is committed to maintaining safe workplaces and enriching communities that can share in our successful delivery of safe, quality food to customers around the globe.

This is done through a Prevention Culture where plant specific workshops are carried out to share information about safety measures. Every year there is also a Health & Safety week to share the importance of the topic. Employees also receive periodical training to ensure worker safety. All of these activities are led by a safety professional on site. The dedicated safety managers ensure to always stay up to date on the latest developments and share best practices with their co-workers.

Safety Awards

During the yearly Health & Safety week, all OSI sites carry out various activities to promote a safety culture. We also highlight successful initiatives that can be replicated into other sites by awarding a Safety Awardfor the best initiative.

Before each Health & Safety week, we receive various nominations that are evaluated and voted on by a dedicated committee.

Safety KPIs

To ensure that our safety standards always remain high we keep a series of Safety KPIs in all our sites. These KPIs track various things such as safety trainings, accidents, sick days, and working days. When any divergence is seen in these numbers, management can react and find the root cause of the issue and prevent it in the future.
